Langmeil Brand Summary
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
Australia
THE BAROSSA
There can be little doubt that if Australia has a
regional wine story that has resonance around the world then it is the Barossa,
comprised of Barossa Valley and its elevated, high country, Eden Valley. But
the Barossa is more than just a wine region; it is also a vital culture of
generational fine wine endeavor, pioneering European influence, gastronomic
excellence and strong community spirit. Above all, it is pride in a local sense
of purpose and belonging.
THE BRAND
Langmeil Winery embodies the ideals inspired by the
refinement of knowledge shared from generations of Barossan’s – The Lindner
family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of
farming, food, wine and community for six generations. Our commitment to
quality in all aspects is unwavering and any wine that bears the Langmeil name
represents our family’s pursuit of excellence in wine and community.
THE HISTORY
The Langmeil property was first settled in 1842 by a
pioneering settler Christian Auricht and formed one of the district’s first
villages. Auricht migrated from Prussia after being persecuted for his
religious beliefs, and fled to the Barossa for religious freedom. His legacy
survives through what’s believed to be the oldest known surviving Shiraz
vineyard in the world, planted in 1843 by Auricht and today continues to produce
fruit for the flagship single vineyard wine The Freedom Shiraz.
TODAY
Langmeil’s award winning premium range is
internationally recognized and they are regarded as one of the top premium wine
producers in Australia. The young team is dedicated to the success of the

Langmeil is a must visit when you are in the Barossa, with stunning
grounds and tours showcasing the notable history to thousands of visitors
annually.
